Use Your Browser as a QR Code Reader

Select Start Camera and grant permission only when your browser asks. The reader lists available cameras after permission is available and prefers a rear-facing camera when one can be identified. Hold the QR code inside the guide until the browser detects it.

The camera stream stops after a successful result, when you switch back to upload mode, when the page is hidden, or when you leave. A flashlight control appears only when the active device and browser expose reliable torch support.

Get a Faster Camera Scan

Good focus and even lighting matter more than holding the phone extremely close. Move back far enough to include the full code and its surrounding border.

Permission and Browser Requirements

Camera access requires HTTPS on deployed websites and explicit user permission. If access is denied, update the site permission in your browser or use the upload option. No app installation or account is required, and the live frames are analyzed locally rather than streamed to our server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the camera open automatically?

No. Camera permission is requested only after you select Start Camera.

Can I switch cameras?

Yes. A selector appears when the browser reports more than one camera.

Why is camera scanning unavailable on an HTTP page?

Browsers require a secure HTTPS context for camera access, except for local development addresses.
