Decode Contact Information

Contact QR codes commonly use vCard or MECARD text. Depending on what the creator included, the result can show a name, organization, job title, phone number, email address, website, and postal address. Empty fields are omitted so the result remains easy to review.

The Save Contact action downloads a VCF file locally. For an existing vCard payload the original card is preserved; for a MECARD result a simple vCard is generated from the fields that were decoded.

Review Before Saving

A contact QR code is untrusted input. Confirm the name, phone, email, and website before adding it to an address book or contacting anyone.

Contact Privacy

The image and decoded contact details are processed locally. Names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, and raw vCard contents are not uploaded or attached to analytics events.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between vCard and MECARD?

Both can encode contact details. vCard is a broader contact-card format, while MECARD is a compact format often used in QR codes.

Can I save the decoded contact?

Yes. Save Contact downloads a VCF file locally for compatible address-book apps.

Are contact details uploaded?

No. Contact parsing and VCF generation happen in your browser.
