See Where a URL QR Code Leads

A URL QR code stores a website address as text. This decoder shows the complete address along with its hostname and protocol before offering an Open Website action. That extra review step is useful when a printed code uses a shortened, unfamiliar, or hard-to-read destination.

Only HTTP and HTTPS results receive a normal website link. Values beginning with JavaScript, data, file, VBScript, or another non-web protocol remain harmless displayed text and are not made executable.

Check a Decoded Link

Decoding is not the same as a malware or reputation scan. The tool reports what the code contains but does not promise that the destination is safe.

Local URL Decoding

The QR image and decoded URL remain in the browser during scanning. The address is not sent to analytics or a link-checking service. It leaves the page only if you deliberately choose Open Website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tool check whether a link is malicious?

No. It reveals the encoded URL so you can review it, but it is not a malware or reputation scanner.

Which links can I open from the result?

Only valid HTTP and HTTPS addresses become an Open Website link.

Will a decoded link open automatically?

No. Opening a website always requires an explicit action.
